Overview
Kalinchowk Shamanism Trek is a quick city escape that lies in Dolakha district, Kalinchowk VDC, Located at an altitude of 3,840m above the sea level and about 150 km away from Kathmandu. It is about 132 kilometers far from Kathmandu to Charikot and 18 km off-road up to Kuri Village then an hour hike from there. From this place, one can get a wonderful panoramic view of Gauri Shanker mountain range. The lights of the Kathmandu valley can be seen from this place at night. To trek up to Kalinchowk you need to travel 150 Kilometers from Kathmandu at Charikot.
Likewise, Kalinchowk might be just the right hike for you if you seek a little more challenging, adventurous hike. The walk involves walking into a steep path. The famous and as well glorious rivers, Sunkoshi and Tamakoshi are also originated from here. So, aside from hiking, you will also have a chance of visiting it. Kalinchowk is being one of the most visited local destinations this winter. Kalinchowk is named after Kalinchowk Bhagwati (dedicated to Hindu Goddess Kali). This gives an idea of how culturally rich the place is. The terrific scenes will surely make you forget about the difficulties you had on your way to the top. Kalinchowk Bhagwati can be promoted as a destination for religious and entertainment mongers types of tourists. Kunda (Pond) of Bhagwati man lays atop of the hill. Idols of Bhagwati and Ganesh lie near the pond while bells and trident placed at the periphery.

Similarly, Kalinchowk Bhagwati is taken as the wish fulfiller one and the Buddhist regard that place as the female deity and worship it as the source of creation. Krishna Ashtami & Janai Purnima is the major festival celebrated in Kalinchowk. During the festival, people sprinkle the holy water of Kalinchowk Kunda upon and take a holy bath in Trishul dhara. People believe that the sprouts of water emerged out when lord Shiva dipped his trident into the ground. This is also related to the Buddhist in many ways as the Tamangs of this area and the Bonpos of this area regard the perfect place for the heritage and religious and spiritual connection. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and people believe that Kalinchowk is the sister of Palanchowk Bhagwati and Shova Bhagwati. The Place is also known for its immense natural beauty.
The majestic beauty of Rhododendron has the power to awe everyone who lays his/her eyes upon it. Kalinchowk trek gives the perfect opportunity to savor the beauty of various kinds of Rhododendrons like Sunpate (Rhododendron anthology) and Tree Rhododendrons all over the trail to Kalinchowk. You can also see Bell Rhododendron (Rhododendron campanulatum) in Kuri village. Traditionally, people used Rhododendrons Flower as medicine for the treatment of inflammatory conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, etc.
Moreover, from the top of Kalinchowk, one can bask in the beauty of the stunning panoramic view of different mountains. Rolwaling Range, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, etc. are some of the stars of the panoramic scenery. October to February is the best time to visit Kalinchowk. Where the chances of snowfalls are very high. Many people visit there during the wintertime to have some snow fun. And also consider the months from March to May. These are the best months for beautiful sunrise, Stunning views.

On your arrival day in Kathmandu, You will be received by the representative staff from Himalayan Trails Trekking & Climbing P. Ltd with proper greeting. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up.

Half day city Tour/ trek briefing and preparation and welcome dinner O/ N Hotel – BDB
The very next morning, after breakfast you will leave for a half day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. Some of these landmarks are concluded in UNESCO world heritage sites of Nepal, including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath) which is one of the largest stupas in the world. After sightseeing You will visit our office in the afternoon, for short trip briefing and introduction with your trekking guide. After that in remaining time you can hang out to the necessary places you might need to go before trekking like, Money changer, ATM, Market ETC. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner program hosted by Himalayan Trails Trekking & Climbing. For dinner, you will be served excellent cuisine.

Kathmandu to Charikot (1550m) by drive / 6hrs drive O/N Hotel - (BDB)
Early in the morning after having breakfast, we will drive from Kathmandu to Charikot along the scenic Arniko Highway in a private vehicle. The road climbs steadily up to 2,600 meters/ 8,530 feet, crosses the Bhote Kosi and Sun Kosi Rivers , and then descends to Charikot. Spend the afternoon exploring the small town, which is the headquarters of Dolakha District, and home to the famous roofless temple, Dolakha Bhimsen.

Charikot to Kuri. O/N Hotel/ lodge - (BDB)
After having breakfast, we start the trek towards Kuri Village, via the town of Deurali. Most of the trail will be through forests. In spring, colorful Rhododendron flowers will be in bloom, which can be a really impressive sight. You will also see a variety of birdlife, and perhaps even the colorful danphe, Nepal’s national bird. There is also a gravel road to Kuri from Charikot but the road is extremely technical and challenging especially during monsoon. Kuri is a small village with settlement of lodges to accommodate the tourist, which is right below the Kalinchowk hill.

Early morning hike to Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple, back to Kuri and drive Charikot. O/N Hotel - (BDB)
Wake up early in the morning and trek up to the Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple, enjoying amazing views of Numbur Himal and Gauri Shankar along the way. The temple, located at 3,800 meters/ 12,467 feet, is important to Buddhists and Hindus, and it is a major pilgrimage site. It is particularly busy with pilgrims in August-September. But, it is said that once you leave the temple precinct you should never return making this a truly once-in-a-lifetime trip. The destination offered a panoramic view of snow covered hills and various Himalayan ranges such as Gaurishankar, Jugal, Ganesh, Langtang etc. After visiting the temple and exploring the spot we go back down to Kuri. After having rest & refreshment we go Charikot.

Visit Charikot Vimsenthan . Drive to Kathmandu by drive / 6hrs drive O/N Hotel - (BDB)
In the morning, drive to Dolakha Bhimsen Temple. It is an ancient trading route to Tibet and a center of Business in medieval period. The roofless temple has a triangular shaped stone statue of lord Bhimsen. The first one is the Bhimsen himself, second is the goddess Bhagawati and the third is Shiva. It is even told that 12 porters put three stones making oven while preparing their food. If you wish, you can even walk along the local trail passing forest and barley fields. You can catch a perfect view of the distance village and green field. After having lunch, drive to Kathmandu from Charikot bazzar.

You are free to spend the day at your leisure to relax, refresh, and perhaps take a trip to explore more of the city, before the group’s final evening celebrating huge achievement with a special dinner. Around the evening, we will take you for a farewell dinner. While having dinner, we will also discuss your trip and take feedback.
