Nepal Visa Informations, A visa is required to all the forigner country people to enter in Nepal. One can get a visa at the Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival. Children under 10 years need not pay any visa fees. Two passport size photos are required to complete the visa application on arrival.
Indian nationals do not require a visa. However, effective from October 1, 2000, Indians traveling to Nepal by air have to show on arrival at the entry points. However, ither a passport or voter’s card issued by the election commission of India or any identity card with the photograph issued by the central or state government of India. Temporary identity card with photograph issued by Nepal – based Indian diplomatic missions for the identification of Indian nationals will also be considered identification. Children under 10 years need not show any identification.
Tourist Visa Rules in Nepal (Effective from 16 July 2008) Any foreigner who intends to visit Nepal must hold valid passport or any travel document equivalent to the passport issued by your local government for visiting a foreign country prior to application for visa.
No foreigner is entitled to enter into or stay in Nepal without valid visa. Nepal Travel Tourist Visa Extension:
> Visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US $ 30 or equivalent convertible currency and visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$ 2 per day
Tourist visa can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year. (January – December)
Transit visa for one day can be obtained from Nepal’s immigration offices at the entry points upon the production of departure flight ticket via Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal, by paying US $ 5 or equivalent convertible currency. You can go for overland travel to enter Nepal from both from India and Tibet. If you are in Tibet, you can enter Nepal by crossing the border at Kodari. Thereafter, take a bus to Kathmandu. This will take you 7 to 12 hours depending on the road conditions. The easiest and hassle free overland route to Nepal from India is via Gorakhpur using train and the Sunauli/Belahiya border post. The only direct buses from this route to Kathmandu run at night and take approximately 9 hours. Raxaul/Birgung border post can also be used to visit Nepal. But this may not leave you with a pleasant travelling experience. If you are in Darjeeling you can come to Nepal via Karkabhitta.

Gulf Air has daily flight between UAE and Kathmandu with connecting flights to/from Europe and America. Air China flies between Lhasa, with connecting flights to/from mainland China. Austrian Airlines flies between Vienna and Kathmandu once a week Indian Airlines have frequent flights between Delhi, Calcutta and Kathmandu.
Likewise, Silk Air, Dragon Air, Ethihad Airways are new Airlines Operating flights from year 2007. Nepal Airlines fly – between Hong Kong and Kathmandu. Between Bangkok and Kathmandu. between Singapore and Kathmandu via Bangkok. Between Osaka and Kathmandu via Shanghai. Between Delhi and Kathmandu. Between Bombay and Kathmandu. Beside these there are Biman Bangladesh, Jet Airways, Pakistan Airlines, connecting Kathmandu with many countries.
