Classic Trek from Tingri to EBC via Ra-chu Valley

This Tingri to Everest Base Camp Trek is the second popular trekking route in Tibet among tourists with the pretty sceneries in Old Tingri and the splendid sunrise from the Mt.Everest.Tingri to Everest Base Camp provides a heady mix of solitude, wildlife sighting and physical challenge, onagers and gazelle around the trail. If you are lucky enough, you may see a Tibetan brown bear rambling in the pastures. You will accomplish 70 km trekking in 4 days and the route of Tibet trekking is on the plateau with altitudes ranging from 4400m to 5300m. On the way to Everest Base Camp you will have enough time to explore the valleys and glaciers below the massive north-face of Mt. Everest and view the most magnificent scenery on the world’s highest mountain scenery.

The best time to trek is from May to October. In addition, you will never miss the supernatural Potala Palace, mystical Jokhang Temple, sprawling Drepung and spiritual Sera Monastery, etc. To adapt to the high altitude (over 3,600m), you are recommended to have a good rest in the hotel, no running and intense activity, no smoking and no alcohol, no shower.

The Itinerary

Day 01: KTM Arrival pick up from Airport and welcoming by garland and transfer to Hotel, trek Briefing and welcome dinner.

Day 02: Sightseeing world heritage sights Hindus & Buddhist shrines / Trek preparation

Day 03: Flight  or Drive from Kathmandu to Lhasa (3650m), explore around Lhasa.

Day 04: Sightseeing in Lhasa-. Sera Monastery, Norbulingka, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Square

Day 05: Sightseeing in Lhasa- Drepung Monastery and Potala Palace.

Day 4: Lhasa/Yamdrok-tso lake/Gyantse (3950m)

Day 5: Gyangtse/Shigatse/Old Tingri

Day 6: Trek to Lungthang (4510 m) (5 hours)

Day 7: Trek to Lamna La (5150 m) (8 hours)

Day 8: Trek to Zommug (4790m)

Day 9: Trek to Rongbuk (4980m) and EBC (5100m)

Day 10: Rongpuk/Shegar/Lhtase/Sakya

Day 11: Sakya to Lhasa

Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu and rest of time free for either relaxation or shopping
