Himalayan Trails always cares about Responsible Business with Environment, while Mannering trekking and tour program, first protection of the damaged environment is our main concern. We are responsive to protect and preserve nature, which goes before the honor of our intimates to hand over the Nature and Culture wealth to the next generation. Himalayan Trails, as a local company, while our lives revolve around the Valleys & Mountains, we are aware of a better amplified responsibility to protect and conserve these resources.
We are dedicated to minimizing negative impact on tourism and allowing visitors to “Leave No Trace: “Take only photographs, leave only footprints”. We bring Non-biodegradable items back and cook the food by LPG gas or kerosene during all our treks & Climbing. Also, at the tea house trek, we stay only where they use LPG gas or kerosene in the lodge.
We are also members of a non-profit organization, KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Educational Project). And we are trained as minimal Travel Impact (MIT). And, organizing many Eco–Tourism and responsible Workshops in organizations to preserve the delicate environment and the inhabitant culture of the Himalayan of Nepal.
Himalayan Trails rebuilt the school building and distributed the school dress for school children in Dolkha district, a remote village at Sailung. Which helped by clients from Europe, and right after the devastating earthquake, we also distributed emergency shelter Tarpaulins and blankets at Sailung for locals.
We encouraged the local community of Sailung to participate in the construction of the school building and were actively involved in moving forward with the local community located. Great opportunities to provide some school buildings to support their children’s benefits, and the capability to provide better education
If any porter gets sick and requires sending him back, we never send him back alone, always with someone who understands the problem and speaks the same mother tongue. We give as much as needed, financial support will be provided to the sick person, and an assistant to cover their returns and treatment
