The Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek passes through a stunning variety of scenery set to a backdrop of magnificent mountains. It is a moderate trek with mostly short trekking days but includes a few steep climbs. Also includes a tour of the fascinating sites of Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro. The trek passes by picturesque lakes, Alpine meadows, abundant wildlife, and many yak herder camps set to a backdrop of magnificent mountainous landscapes. The centerpiece of this communion with nature is time spent exploring the high-altitude lakes overflowing with trout and mystical history. It is a moderate trek with mostly short trekking days but includes a few steep climbs. This trek is a great option for a desire to experience the variety of flora and fauna in Bhutan. Likewise, to capture a glimpse of the local nomadic lifestyle.
Similarly, it includes a tour of the fascinating sites of Thimphu and Paro. Besides you can have spectacular views of high mountains in Bhutan, Sikkim, and Nepal. The route also presents fascinating views of prominent eastern Himalayan peaks such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Jhomolhari, Jichu Drake, Masagang, Tseda Gang, and Gangchhenta. The best time to embark on this trek is between April-June and September–October.
Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek starts:
On your arrival day in Kathmandu. You will be received by the representative staff from Himalayan Trails Trekking & Climbing with proper greeting. Then afterward, you will be transferred to the hotel. After time to get refreshed if you want more information regarding your trip you will meet and transfer to our office for a briefing about your trip. In the evening Himalayan Trails Trekking & Climbing organizes an authentic Nepali dinner with ethnic cultural entertainment and to know your guide and to talk about your trip. Next day after a Full day of Sightseeing in UNESCO-listed historical sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath(monkey temple), and Pashupatinath in Kathmandu Valley with an experienced Tour Guide by private car/van, Stay overnight in a Hotel. On day three after breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport and then flown to Paro.
Likewise, from Paro, we drive pass through the paddy fields and coniferous forests towards our starting point of trek Genekha. Our trekking journey leads up the ridge through several yak herders’ camps with a magnificent view over the whole Dagala Range, towards the broad Labatama valley near Utso Lake where Golden trout can be spotted in large numbers. A short distance beyond the lake leads to Panka. Where a good view of the Dagala Range and Thimpu can see and can be enjoyed. From Panka it is a long descent through the forest to the village of Talakha. We continue descending on a steep trail to reach Chamgang from where we drive to reach Thimpu. Our trek technically ends here.
