Here, we will introduce you to the Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Trek (Rolwaling Valley Trek), its trekking routes and the best trekking season for Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha trek.

Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Trek

The Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu (1400m) to Gonggor Khola (1300m) via Dolakha and finally to Suri Dob. The trekkers will stay overnight at a lodge in Suri Dobhan. The next day, we will be trekking along the river crossing streams and jungles to reach Jagat (1440m). On the way, we will also cross a suspension bridge. The next morning, we will walk through a trail that ascends through the Bamboo and mix jungle to reach the Sherpa village of Simigaon (1990m).

Then, we move towards Kharka (2900m). On the route, you’ll be treated with the beautiful view of Mount Gaurishankar.  On the next day, the trek will move towards Beding (3690m) following the trails at the left bank of Rolwaling Khola. From Beding, the trek will move towards Na Village (4180m), which is an easy walk along the northern bank of Rolwaling River.

On the ninth day of the trip, the Rolwaling Valley trek will move from Na to Tso Rolpa Lake (4588m). Tso Rolpa is a Himalayan Lake, which is filled with the chilling water of the glaciers. Here, you’ll trek along the right bank of the river and then cross the river to climb up the rocky lateral moraine of the Glacier.  We then walk close to Tso Rolpa for the night.

The next morning, the trek will move from Tso Rolpa to Trakarding Glacier (4800m). This beautiful trek will take you past the glaciers throughout the day. Finally, the next morning, we’ll move from Trakarding to Tashi Lapcha Base Camp (5010m). The trek will take you to the lowest point of the icefall and then climbing to the easiest point to gain the Drolambau glacier. Here we will be surrounded by superb high mountain scenery.  Continuing further downhill, we camp at Tashi Lapcha Pedi Camp at the foot of Tashi Lapcha, surrounded by absolutely grandiose mountains over 6000m with a 360-degree panorama.

Then the Rolwaling Valley trek will move towards Thengpo (4370m) from Ascension Pachermo (6272m). Ascending from Tashi Lapcha to Pachermo will lead you to the final ridge, sometimes requiring fixed ropes. The Top of the Pachermo summit, you get to enjoy the fantastic views of the Khumbu peaks including Everest and Makalu.  From here, you’ll descend towards Thengpo.

From Thengpo, we’ll move towards Thame (3820m). The walk will be relatively easy on this route. From Thame, you’ll get wonderful views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kusum Kangaru.

From Thame, we move towards Namche Bazaar to Lukla and then finally take a flight to Kathmandu.

Best Time for Rolwaling Trek
